The RoleAs a Production Engineer, you will be a trusted technical advisor for the production team. You will drive initiatives that enable operational excellence at our Prominent Hill copper-gold mine in South Australia.
Responsibilities- Design drilling, blasting and production plans. Ensure drill and blast designs meet site requirements through collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Regularly spend time on-site (3-4 times per shift) to ensure drill and blast activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Review drilling, blasting and production plans as needed. Perform quality assurance/quality control monitoring for production activities.
- Undertake stop reconciliation/abandonment after completion.
- Manage and monitor the electronic iKon III blasting system.
- Monitor and maintain quality data for underground performance.
- Develop and implement projects to enhance processes and practices.
- Assist other Mining Engineering functions as required.
- Support incident investigations and implement actions to continuously improve the site's safety performance.
- Conduct task observations and Critical Control Verifications (CCVs) when necessary.
- Experience working in an underground, hard rock, metalliferous mine environment is essential.
- Practical experience gained in an underground environment is necessary.
- A proven track record in drill and blast design, particularly in sub-level open stoping, is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience in short-term scheduling is also preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate oneself and work independently to achieve project objectives is essential.
- Proven ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and build strong relationships is necessary.
- Previous experience promoting safe production and processes is highly valued.
- Ability to work independently in office and underground settings is essential.
