Job Overview:

About the Role:

  • You will lead and manage tailings projects from conception to completion, ensuring technical, safety, and environmental standards are met.
  • You will develop detailed designs, plans, and specifications for tailings storage facilities and associated infrastructure.
  • You will provide expert technical guidance on tailings management, risk assessment, and monitoring practices.
  • You will conduct site visits and inspections to oversee construction and operational activities.
  • You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and best practices.
  • You will mentor and guide junior engineers and team members, fostering professional growth and development.
  • You will prepare detailed reports, technical proposals, and cost estimates for clients and stakeholders.
  • You will stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in tailings management.

Key Qualifications:

  • A degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Mining Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in tailings design, construction, and management.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and risk management practices in tailings management (e.g., ICMM standards).
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as GeoStudio, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
