Senior Tailings Specialist Role

This position requires an experienced and skilled Senior Tailings Specialist to provide technical leadership and strategic oversight for the safe, compliant, and effective operation and construction of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) at our mine site.

The successful candidate will ensure that engineering practices align with company standards, industry best practice, and applicable regulatory requirements. This involves providing guidance and expertise to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in tailings management practices.

Responsibilities
  • Providing technical leadership across tailings engineering, construction, and surveillance activities.
  • Coordinating the development and implementation of construction scopes, engineering designs, and execution plans.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure design intent is achieved.
  • Monitoring performance of TSFs through regular inspections, instrumentation reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Leading the implementation of QA/QC procedures and ensuring construction is executed to design specifications.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and geotechnical standards and procedures.
  • Supporting the development and mentoring of junior engineers and site technical personnel.
About You

Applicants should be highly experienced professionals with a relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Mining Engineering. They should have extensive experience in mining planning software and possess strong leadership skills.

Candidates must also demonstrate excellent communication and coaching skills and have the ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a team environment.
