About the Role

The University of Notre Dame Australia seeks a highly skilled and experienced medical professional to fill the position of Medical Education Director Sydney. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Clinical Years in the Sydney Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.

This senior position reports to the Deputy National Head of School, Sydney, and requires strong people management, excellent communication, and influencing skills. The ideal candidate will possess a medical qualification registrable with AHPRA and either a PhD or Fellowship of a relevant professional body, or a Master's level qualification in a relevant field with at least 5 years teaching experience in the Higher Education Sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Coordinate the consistent delivery of the MD program curriculum for Year 3 and 4 (Clinical Years) in conjunction with the Heads of Clinical Schools.
  • Clinical Placement Management: Manage student allocation to Clinical Schools for Years 3 and 4 with the Clinical Placements Coordinator.
  • Quality Processes: Coordinate Clinical School participation in quality processes and liaise with relevant health department, Governments, and private jurisdictions.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide support in student matters, pastoral care, and monitoring academic progress.

Requirements:

  • A medical qualification registrable with AHPRA.
  • A PhD or Fellowship of a relevant professional body, or a Master's level qualification in a relevant field with at least 5 years teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in medical education, clinical practice, and negotiating with health services.
  • Experience of managing teams within complex organisational structures.
