Food Services Assistant Job

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Food Services Assistant to join our team, helping to ensure safe and efficient food service delivery within a hospital environment.

As an FSA, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care by assisting in the preparation, assembly, and delivery of meals to meet dietary and safety standards.

We have multiple full-time opportunities, working across a 7-day roster. You must be available to work 38 hours per week.

Job Description:

  • Prepare and assemble hot and cold meals according to dietary requirements and menu plans.
  • Ensure food safety compliance by following HACCP procedures, cleaning protocols, and correct food handling practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment, work areas, and utensils to a high standard.
  • Receive, store, and rotate stock following FIFO principles and report low stock levels.
  • Accurately complete all food safety documentation and actively participate in infection control and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service, kitchen hand, or catering roles (healthcare experience desirable).
  • Possession of a Food Hygiene Certificate or Workplace Hygiene Certificate.
  • Strong communication and time management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive, flexible attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
