Job Summary:

The Casual Chef will work as a member of the patient services team to provide high-quality food service, catering to special dietary requirements and providing daily meals to patients and staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing expertise in catering to deliver advice, support, assistance, judgment, and practical skills to ensure a high-quality food provision function.
  • Liaising with patient services staff to promote healthy food choices and meet patient dietary requirements.
  • Cooking and serving patient meals, preparing cafeteria-style meals for clients and visitors.
  • Reheating and reconstituting food, receiving stock, and liaising with the dietician and other professional staff on food requirements.
  • Ensuring quality services, supporting staff morale, and upholding code of conduct standards.

Requirements:

An appropriate trade or post-trade qualification or equivalent, previous experience in cooking and nutrition, certificate 3 in cookery required, understanding of nutritional guidelines for working within a healthcare setting, and food safety supervisor certificate desirable.
