Job Title: Data Platform Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Platform Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will play a pivotal role in shaping national research infrastructure and contributing to AI-driven discoveries for improved health outcomes.

About the Role:
  • You will be responsible for developing cutting-edge digital solutions, including a Gen3 data commons, to enable sharing and analysis of human omic and phenotype data.
  • Create production-grade tools for automated data flows, including archiving, cataloguing, and analysis of sensitive human omics datasets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new software features and integration points.
  • Design and execute test plans, lead code reviews, and maintain high-quality codebases.
Requirements:
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have extensive experience developing robust, release-quality Python code.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of ETL processes and data processing.
  • Possess experience with Unix/Linux command-line utilities and shell scripting.
  • Show commitment to continuous learning and have excellent communication skills.
