Lead Enterprise Data Specialist

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Enterprise Data Specialist to deliver a modern, scalable enterprise-wide data platform.

This key role will involve leading a team of data specialists, including data engineers, data platform administrators, and data architects, to support the development and operations of the data platform.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish, scale, lead, and manage a team of data specialists to develop and operate the data platform.
  • Review the current state of ACMA's Microsoft Azure cloud-based data analytics platform and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate and uplift technical documentation on data analytics platform design and operations to ensure alignment with best practices and standards.
  • Optimise data analytics platform architecture and operations to make data more accessible and create reliable and reusable data ingestion pipelines and transformation frameworks.
  • Monitor and enhance platform performance and usage to ensure efficient resource consumption and drive continuous improvement in platform reliability, data pipeline performance, and job orchestration.
  • Implement observability frameworks to proactively detect and resolve data issues and address data quality.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a fit-for-purpose enterprise-wide data analytics platform infrastructure with technical capabilities that are scalable, flexible, and cost-effective.

Requirements:

  • Highly skilled and experienced data specialist with expertise in leading teams and developing complex data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data analytics, data engineering, and data architecture principles and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Australian citizenship and Baseline level security clearance required.
