As a Software Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure and scalable software infrastructure that meets both operational and product needs. Your primary goal will be to influence design efforts and lead continuous deployment cycles, ensuring seamless resolution of issues identified via application and system monitoring. You will drive the resolution of emergent service problems, build automated tools to identify/prevent problem recurrence, and perform hands-on automation tasks to treat infrastructure as code.

You will provide execution of activities related to infrastructure, security, continuous deployment, IT operations, and metrics, while communicating with key stakeholders on infrastructure and deployment details. Additionally, you will lead code reviews and mentor other DevOps Engineers and Developers in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and .NET applications in production environments. You will also have experience with using Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, VMware, and web hosting experience on the public internet involving PHP, Apache (or Nginx).

A tertiary qualification in an area of Information Technology and/or relevant experience is essential. Experience with mentoring junior DevOps Engineers and/or other development team members would be an advantage.

Your impact and success in this role will be measured by your ability to familiarise yourself with IaC repositories and their deployment pipelines within 1 month, acquire a working knowledge of the infrastructure and automations built and maintained by the DevOps team within 3 months, and participate in or lead the deployment of new infrastructure or automation within 6 months.
