We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Support Worker. In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities.
About the Role:
- Provide support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plan, ensuring their needs are met and their goals are achieved.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming, promoting independence and dignity.
- Offer transportation assistance to clients, facilitating their participation in community activities and outings.
- Provide respite care to clients and their families, offering relief and support during challenging times.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with the care team.
- Develop effective relationships with clients, their families, and other members of the care team, fostering a culture of respect and empathy.
- Stay informed about health and safety regulations, implementing measures to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all clients.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with the latest developments and best practices in the NDIS field.
Requirements:
- A minimum of high school or equivalent qualification, demonstrating a solid foundation in personal and social skills.
- Certificate 2 or 4 in individual support or willingness to work towards completion, highlighting a commitment to professional growth.
- Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities, showcasing a genuine passion for supporting others.
- Experience with complex client needs is recommended, indicating an ability to adapt and respond to diverse situations.
- Availability for day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends, reflecting flexibility and a willingness to accommodate varied schedules.
- A strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines, ensuring compliance and effectiveness in delivering support services.
- An understanding of health and safety regulations, prioritizing the well-being and safety of clients.
- The ability to work with a diverse client base, respecting differences in abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
- Basic care and first aid skills, providing confidence and competence in responding to emergencies.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, facilitating efficient communication and data management.
