About the Role


As a Media Relations Specialist at REA Group, you will play a key role in shaping our public relations and media strategy. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute engaging media outreach and engagement plans, leveraging our data business PropTrack to drive media coverage and build strong relationships with key media stakeholders.


Your Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and execute media outreach and engagement plans to drive media coverage and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including economists and analysts, to coordinate a timely and comprehensive response to media requests.
  • Manage all property data-related media requests into the business and work with stakeholders to deliver on the group's strategic objectives via the media.
  • Forge deep relationships across the Australian media landscape, with a focus on growing and maintaining strong relationships with reporters and producers from all major newsrooms.

What We're Looking For



  • A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a fast-paced communications/public relations environment.
  • Strong relationship management skills and previous experience working with multiple stakeholders at all levels of seniority, including media.
  • Ability to find engaging media hooks, write pitches, and work directly with reporters to create interesting stories.
  • Experience leveraging research or data and turning complex concepts into simple and engaging narratives for media.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, navigating multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to switch between writing styles and write media releases and pitches at a fast pace.
  • A team player with integrity, professionalism, pride, and resilience.
