This is a unique opportunity to work in the State Control Centre as an Intelligence and Mapping Lead within Emergency Management.
The role is full-time with shift work and is fixed term for 12 months. It provides attractive remuneration with a salary range between $113,022 - $136,747 plus superannuation.
About UsEmergency Management Victoria leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
We are part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety and our operations directorate leads emergency operational coordination and state operations in Victoria.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of intelligence and mapping specialists, providing clear direction, advice and necessary support through developing and implementing new processes and procedures.
- Provide leadership and management of a program which ensures the provision of high-quality and high-value predictive services, mapping, and geospatial data analysis in a timely manner.
- Deliver briefings and presentations to inform key stakeholders and influence decision-making and the development of intelligence briefs.
- Ensure intelligence and mapping products are available for operations, plans, briefings, public information, and media within the State Control Centre and supporting agencies.
- Experience in geospatial analysis and mapping, preferably using ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcGIS in an ArcGIS Enterprise environment and predictive services.
- Understanding of geospatial mapping and predictive services in an emergency management context.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of Victoria's emergency management arrangements is desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate intelligence and/or mapping discipline, such as Strategic Analysis or Geographical Information Systems, is desirable.
