We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Electronic Surveillance Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our operations by providing high-quality intelligence products.

Job OverviewThe Australian Federal Police is looking for an experienced Electronic Surveillance Analyst to work on its covert technical operations. As an Electronic Surveillance Analyst, you will provide close operational support in electronic surveillance analysis as directed by the Team Leader and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide detailed analytical reports on electronic surveillance activities.
  • Maintain currency in the application of advanced analytical methodologies such as discovery analysis, statistical analysis, anomaly analysis, and trend analysis.
  • Demonstrate extensive technical knowledge and applied tradecraft to deliver problem-focused solutions.
  • Develop an understanding of the Electronic Surveillance Analysis (ESA) scope within Covert Technical Operations (CTO) and how it contributes to the wider AFP.

Requirements
  • Australian citizenship at the time of application.
  • Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to successfully complete an annual psychological screening specific to this position.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Self-driven with contemporary experience in relevant fields, including telecommunications, cyber operations, programming & coding, geospatial analysis, and/or data analytics.

Desirable Skills
  • Advanced data literacy with large and complex data sets.
  • Experience contributing to team projects and contributing to strategic outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of Investigative and Intelligence processes and techniques.
  • Able to apply advanced analysis tradecraft for behavioural and/or pattern analysis techniques.
