We are seeking a skilled Coastal and Marine Analyst to join our team of experts in climate intelligence.

The successful candidate will contribute to the Climate Intelligence (CI) program, strengthening regional environmental modelling capability.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with oceanographers, coastal impact modellers and remote sensing scientists, performing geospatial analyses to support climate change research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and curate topographic, bathymetric and other geospatial datasets
  • Supply expertise in geodesy and cartography to ensure accurate integration of disparate geospatial datasets
  • Support extraction and analysis of observational data from national and international data repositories
  • Contribute to the development of parametric and statistical models and basic data analysis routines
  • Adhere to principles of research data management and provide guidance on research data curation processes

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant work experience in geographic, physical or ecological sciences
  • Demonstrated experience in advanced geospatial analysis and related coding in scientific programming languages such as Python and R
  • Understanding of geodesy
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary research team
