Squad Lead Job Description

Medibank is seeking a senior cyber security leader to oversee the delivery of secure, business-aligned technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have broad expertise in cybersecurity principles and frameworks, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate a portfolio of critical functions that form a vital capability within Medibank's cyber security ecosystem.
  • Oversee a team of Business Information Security Officers who act as strategic interfaces between cyber security and key business units.
  • Develop and implement the organisation's cyber security strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and APRA CPS 234.
  • Drive Medibank's security culture by leading awareness and training initiatives that empower employees to manage cyber risks and foster a security-first mindset.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role overseeing business solutions delivery and security integration within complex, enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams delivering secure, scalable technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong expertise in cybersecurity principles and frameworks, with practical experience embedding security controls throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex technical and security concepts clearly to a broad range of stakeholders.
