Logistics Manager

CPB Contractors Pty Limited is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to join the Construction Delivery Team for the HumeLink West project. This project involves the delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage the daily operations of site logistics, ensuring efficient receiving, unloading, storage, quality control, loading and delivery of construction materials.
- Develop and implement transport strategies to improve efficiency and reduce cost, aligning with project objectives.
- Develop and coordinate comprehensive logistic plans, monitoring and reporting on progress to stakeholders.
- Manage multiple laydowns, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure availability of resources, equipment, and materials needed for project execution.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to engage stakeholders and gather feedback on project strategy.
- Ensure compliance to HVNL, standards and regulations, implementing systems and processes to support.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures, allocating resources effectively to support project activities and meet project requirements.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and key project personnel, ensuring buy-in to safety and quality strategies.
- Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders across the project team, participating in cost reporting processes.
- Contribute to CPB and Project Safety culture, supporting the project safety team and developing quality controls.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Transport and logistics Management role, ideally in a contracting environment.
- Experience in construction environment, with in-depth understanding of NHVL, COR and NHVR accreditation schemes.
- Direct experience in construction Logistics, including fuel, bulk water, concrete, steel, and construction materials.
- Heavy haulage experience and port handling experience are advantageous.
- Ability to write detailed technical scopes of work for large packages, with effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Intermediate computer skills and a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent).
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement. Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
