The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join its Addiction Medicine team as a Registrar. This 12-month Part Time Fixed Term position will commence working 43 hours per fortnight.
About the RoleThis role provides consultation/liaison support to emergency departments and inpatient units at multiple hospitals, has a weekly outpatient clinic, and an outreach service to the city area. The Addiction Medicine Service supports individuals with drug and alcohol and behavioral addictions at various healthcare facilities, including inpatients, outpatients, emergency departments, and community outreach programs.
Key Responsibilities- Support the addiction medicine team consisting of nursing staff, nurse practitioners, addiction medicine physicians, and psychiatrists.
- Provide consultation/liaison support to emergency departments and inpatient units.
- Conduct a weekly outpatient clinic and outreach service to the city area.
- Current General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
- An eligible FRANZCP trainee.
- Preferably have an interest in completing training for Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry.
