\Respiratory Medicine Specialist Role Summary\

This is a senior specialist role within the respiratory medicine department, providing high-quality clinical care to patients and being actively engaged in patient care, research, and education. The key objective is to provide continuity of general respiratory and sleep medicine care.

\Key Responsibilities:\
  • Provide comprehensive clinical care to patients primarily within respiratory medicine.
  • Be actively involved in patient care, research, and education initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and audit evidence-based management protocols and models of care consistent with international best practice standards.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including Hospital Medical Officers (HMOs), Registrars, Fellows, Locums, and trainees.
\Requirements:\
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Respiratory & Sleep Medicine.
  • Meets Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Respiratory Medicine.
  • Experience in teaching and an involvement in research are highly desirable.
