Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Baggage Operations Coordinator to join our team at Western Sydney International Airport. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering safe and efficient baggage operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning and allocation of baggage system resources, monitoring the flow of baggage within the baggage handling systems, and liaising with airlines and the Baggage Service Provider (BSP).

This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in airport baggage systems operations or a related field.

About the Role:

  • Liaise with airlines and the BSP to coordinate plans for daily and seasonal flight schedules within the baggage system High Level Controller.
  • Actively monitor assembly of baggage batches and allocation to designated loading resources.
  • Monitor storage capacity and clearance of the outbound oversize baggage process.
  • Establish effective communication with airlines and Ground Handling Agents regarding flight preparations, resource allocation, and the transfer of baggage.

About You:

  • 3-5 years of experience in airport baggage systems operations or a related field.
  • Highly effective planning skills.
  • Focused, safe, and efficient work methods.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
