Transmission Project Controls Specialist

Be at the heart of Victoria's energy transformation by leading the development and implementation of project controls for major transmission projects. Work closely with technical advisors to ensure scheduling, risk management, and workplace health and safety are effectively managed.

This role is a key contributor to VicGrid's Energy Group, coordinating the planning and development of Victoria's Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) through strategic investments in the transmission grid.

The Transmission Project Controls Specialist will lead cross-functional teams to establish and manage relationships within the energy ecosystem, ensuring that projects can be developed effectively and connected to the National Electricity Market (NEM). Key stakeholders include the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), and internal stakeholders across DELWP.

An understanding of government authorising and decision-making processes related to major infrastructure projects would be advantageous, along with tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as engineering, commerce, or management.

You will work collaboratively with teams to develop and implement project controls, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes. Your expertise will drive effective project delivery, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.

This is a fixed-term position available for 2.5 years, offering flexible work arrangements within Victoria.

VicGrid offers a diverse and inclusive work environment where you can contribute to shaping Victoria's renewable energy future. As a valued member of our team, you will have opportunities for growth and professional development.

Key requirements include:

  • Demonstrated experience in program planning, scheduling, and risk management for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as engineering, commerce, or management.

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who share our commitment to delivering outstanding results in a collaborative and supportive environment. If you are passionate about renewable energy and excited about driving transformative change, we encourage you to apply.
