Job Title: Data Center Rack Operations Trainee

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Data Center Rack Operations Trainee.

  • Decommissioning and processing of legacy hardware out of data center facilities.
  • Moving/lifting packages usually no greater than 20 kgs, using manual handling equipment.
  • Unpacking/repacking fragile electronics.
  • Relocating and moving of large enterprise equipment.
  • Operate HDD and SSD destruction machinery.
  • Creating/attaching labels and barcodes.
  • Hard drive installation and removal, and destruction.
  • Basic Networking removal/installation and switch consoling.
  • Physical layer and Application layer.
  • Updating progress through a web ticketing system.
  • Reporting of processes and regular status updates.
  • Documenting procedures.
  • Escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

Familiarity with basic PC components/hardware:

  • HDD/SSD/Flash/Removable storage media
  • USB/FireWire/E-Sata
  • Ram/CPU/Motherboard/Input-Output devices

Education and Certifications:

  • A degree or diploma at University or TAFE

Desirable Attributes:

  • Passionate about IT infrastructure and hardware
  • Networking knowledge
