We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to support our centralised payroll function and drive end-to-end payroll processing using Aurion and Peoplesoft technologies.

About the Role
  • This senior position is based in Brisbane, offering excellent opportunities for professional growth and development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for running fortnightly payroll processes, performing variance checks and reconciliations, administering superannuation fund set-ups, and providing mentoring and support to the payroll team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process complex end-to-end payroll for 3500+ employees across 6 entities.
  • Act on payroll requests promptly and accurately, including new hires, exits, and changes.
  • Run fortnightly payroll processes, perform variance checks, and reconcile EFT transactions.
  • Administer superannuation fund set-ups and reconcile payments.
  • Reconcile payroll reports fortnightly and monthly.
  • Provide guidance and support to the payroll team.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and simplify payroll processes.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Payroll, Accounting, or related fields are desirable.
  • 10+ years of experience in processing complex end-to-end payroll.
  • 10+ years of experience in EOFY payroll processes.
  • Experience with Aurion or Peoplesoft is highly valued.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and Excel skills.
  • Ambitious and results-driven individual who strives for process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Exceptional knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation.
