Expert Payroll Specialist

Job Overview
Our organization is seeking a seasoned payroll expert to oversee the processing of complex end-to-end payrolls for 3,500+ employees across six entities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
This role involves managing payroll operations from start to finish, including variance checks, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end payroll for 3,500+ employees
- Action payroll requests promptly and accurately
- Run fortnightly payroll processes, conduct variance checks, and reconcile EFT payments
- Administer setup of new superannuation funds and reconcile payments
- Reconcile payroll reports fortnightly after each payroll run and monthly
- Provide mentorship and support to the payroll team
- Stay up-to-date on relevant legislation and proactively identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and simplify payroll processes
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in Payroll, Accounting, or a related field; 10+ years of experience in processing complex end-to-end payroll; Strong problem-solving and Excel skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Excellent knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation.
