Job Opportunity: Cemetery Grounds Team Member

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cemetery Grounds Team Member to join our team. This is a full-time position working 9-day fortnights, with hours from 6:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repairs, and improvement activities specific to cemetery operations. These tasks may include:

  • Horticultural activities such as gardening, pruning, tree trimming, planting, irrigation installation and maintenance, landscaping, weeding, fertilizing, treating pests and weeds.
  • Operating various small mechanical plant such as mowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers, blowers, spray equipment, rotary hoes, and chainsaws.
  • Assisting with grave digging and backfilling as needed.
  • Undertaking general cemetery operation tasks including monumental works, locating/marking out graves.

To be considered for this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience or transferable skills in a related field.
  • A White Card certification.
  • An Herbicide Operator ticket (ACDC).
  • A Chainsaw ticket.
  • An MR Licence (desirable).
  • A Class C Drivers Licence.

You should also possess the ability to work effectively in a team environment and be physically fit for manual laboring work.
