We are seeking a skilled professional to drive continuous improvement of our Health & Safety Management System, ensuring compliance and a proactive safety culture.

About the Role

You will join a collaborative safety team where you'll play a key role in shaping and assuring health, safety, and wellbeing systems. This role focuses on driving continuous improvement, governance, and assurance to support a proactive safety culture.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute assurance programs including audits, inspections, and reviews
  • Coordinate with colleagues to ensure timely and effective audits
  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of HSMS aligned with ISO 45001 and relevant Australian legislation
  • Ensure legislative compliance and communicate changing requirements
  • Work closely with leaders and staff to share leading practice and educate staff about our health, safety and wellbeing requirements
  • Act as a trusted advisor providing coaching and guidance on HSMS matters

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated experience presenting to groups, facilitating workshops, and chairing meetings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Australian Safety Standards as well as relevant Safe work Australia, SafeWork NSW and Workcover publications
  • Extensive practical experience of Work Health and Safety with a demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation and policies
  • Significant experience of H&S auditing/assurance with experience gained in a complex organisation
  • Certification as a Lead Auditor in OHS Management Systems ISO 45001 (desirable)
