Key Responsibilities:
- Meet the daily care needs of children and young people, including personal hygiene, health, and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational, and educational support.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and personalized care environment.
- Document events and developments related to the provision of care.
- Ensure NDIS plans are accessible for children and young people.
- Utilize trauma-informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision.
- Provide positive behavior support, therapeutic interventions, and safety to children and young people who may experience escalation and crisis.
- Encourage social engagement, recreation, and community involvement.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of children and young people.
- Promote positive relationships and connections for children and young people with family, culture, and community.
About You:
We are looking for a care team member who has a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. You will have experience in offering support to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives and promoting their independence.
You will understand the importance of trauma-informed care, consistency, and stability in the lives of children and young people. You will be committed to meticulous documentation and reporting, with a deep commitment to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people.
