The Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service provides dedicated mental health care to young people aged 12-25 in Melbourne's north and west, along with their families, carers, supporters and kin. Operating at sites across Melbourne's north and west, it is Victoria's first standalone public mental health service built exclusively around young people's needs.

This means every decision – from the front desk to the boardroom – centres on what young people need. Working in partnership with Orygen, the service combines world-leading research, clinical excellence and dedicated governance to deliver seamless, person-centred care.

Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is Victoria's newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

We exist to walk alongside young people, their families, carers, supporters and kin delivering care that is accessible, inclusive, developmentally appropriate, evidence-informed, and grounded in lived experience.

Our service model is shaped by the voices of young people and their communities, and underpinned by a commitment to safety, equity, and continuous learning.

The Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service team provides specialist youth mental health care in custodial settings (Parkville and Cherry Creek sites) to young people and their families/carers.

We're excited for an enthusiastic and passionate ANUM to join our amazing team at Cherry Creek Youth Justice Custodial Precinct.

This key leadership position supports young people in CCYJP who are admitted on a voluntary basis.

1. Primary point of contact for clinical issues and a resource for staff on each shift
2. Deliver evidence-based nursing care to young people in custody across a 24/7 rotating roster
3. Provide specialist mental health nursing interventions, and effectively manage critical incidents and emergency situations
4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based interventions
5. Deliver mental health nursing care from a Strengths-Based, Recovery-Focused framework

The ANUM works closely with the NUM to assist with efficient operation of the clinical environment, workforce management and ensuring clinical standards to achieve a high quality of service delivery.

Assume responsibilities in the absence of the NUM.

You should have a Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or Bachelor Degree in Nursing.

Post-graduate qualification in Mental Health is also desirable.

Comprehensive experience in the application of clinical and nursing practice in youth mental health including risk assessment, mental state assessment, psychoeducation, care coordination, ideally in an acute or subacute inpatient setting.

Ability to deliver personalised psycho-social care beyond the traditional medical model to facilitate recovery of young people.

Demonstrated commitment to the recovery approach in mental health treatment and support, with a focus on working collaboratively with consumers and families/carers to promote self-determination and enable progress towards reaching consumers personal recovery goals.
