Job Overview:

The Molecular Pathology laboratory is seeking a skilled professional to conduct molecular diagnostics and genetic testing.

This role requires the successful applicant to identify microorganisms by analyzing unique DNA or RNA using techniques like PCR, allowing for rapid, sensitive, and specific diagnosis of infectious diseases from bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens.

  • Perform molecular pathology tests to diagnose infectious diseases.
  • Collaborate with pathologists, scientists, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to a dynamic and multidisciplinary team environment that fosters innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct molecular diagnostics and genetic testing.
  • Analyze and interpret test results.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

This role requires flexibility to work evening shifts, public holidays, and weekends as needed. The successful applicant will undergo a pre-employment National Police Check, comply with Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy, supply certified copies of qualifications, and provide two referees willing to be contacted.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

This role is based in the Molecular Pathology laboratory and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful applicant will be required to undergo regular training and development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
