The role of Environmental Coordinator is integral to our organization's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our projects are executed in an environmentally responsible manner, while also contributing to the achievement of our strategic objectives.

As Environmental Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting project site teams with environmental best practices and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will respond to and report on project environmental matters, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as needed. Additionally, you will coordinate with specialist consultants, undertake routine site inspections, and develop Environmental Management Plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project site teams in implementing environmentally friendly practices and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and address project environmental concerns, communicating effectively with both internal and external parties.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, conduct regular site audits, and create comprehensive Environmental Management Plans.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, working closely with the Group Environment Lead to achieve Annual Objectives and Sustainability Initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Possess tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management, Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in environmental management practices, soil and water management principles, and construction industry regulations.
  • Be proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and drawing tools (e.g., Visio, Bluebeam, PDF).
  • Exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
