Retirement Living is one of Australia's largest owners, operators, and developers of retirement living communities, with a current portfolio of 75+ villages. Retirement Living has a national footprint with over 13,000 homes and 17,000 residents calling our villages home.

The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Manager - Developments & Construction to join our Retirement Living Sustainability Function permanently to provide support for all Retirement Living development, refurbishment & capex projects nationally. This role will help drive sustainability outcomes across the respective projects from bid phase through to post-completion, contributing to our mission to be recognised as a leader in sustainability.

The second opportunity is for a Sustainability Manager to join our Retirement Living Sustainability Function on a fixed term 12-month contract to provide sustainability strategy and targets and co-ordination for all ESG, Mission Zero and GRESB reporting for all Retirement Living villages nationally.

Reporting to the Head of Safety Sustainability, and Wellbeing, your key roles and responsibilities will include:
- Work with the business to evolve the sustainability strategy for existing and new assets- Supporting the business to establish electrification / renewable strategies to support Mission Zero- Set and implement sustainable strategies in alignment with frameworks and targets, across projects that may be in various stages of development- Upskill and educate key leaders and internal/external stakeholders on the sustainability strategy and targets- Establish site sustainability standards approach for Village operations- Engage with key stakeholders to set the sustainability fund strategy going forward and as retirement living transforms into an independent business.- Help drive initiatives within the retirement living business- Provide sustainability review of acquisitions and divestments

Your Background- Minimum 6 years’ experience in a sustainability role within property industry - essential- Degree in engineering, environmental science, property, sustainable development, sustainability or equivalent - Desirable- Exposure to building ratings, certifications, and benchmarks such as Green Star, LHA, GRESB and NABERS - Desirable- Ability to effortlessly influence and think strategically
