We are seeking a talented Freight Rate Negotiator to join our team.

Job Description:

A Freight Rate Negotiator will be responsible for negotiating rates with carriers and deugro subcontractors. This involves reading ocean and air freight rates, understanding common terms and conditions, and calculating rate conversions. The successful candidate will also verify shipment weight and volume, as well as use charts for currency conversions.

The Freight Rate Negotiator will work within the Tender Management team to create commercial tender responses/proposals. They will support tender requests and perform cost analysis, assign tasks and rate requests to overseas offices during the bidding process, and develop communication with foreign operations, carriers, and customers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience managing commercial aspects in freight forwarding disciplines.
  • Good knowledge of geography, including countries and major cities.
  • Effective time management skills to evaluate deadlines.
  • Strong commercial, technical, and financial acumen.
  • Awareness of risk factors and basic mitigation measures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficient PC skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be team-focused.
