The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Coastal Expert to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the design and planning of large-scale maritime facilities across various industries including defence, local government, state government, ports, and sustainability.
Working within our National Maritime Team, you will be involved in the development of innovative projects, supported by and collaborating with a range of disciplines within the organization and external partners.
While some projects are high-profile, such as the upgrade of existing facilities, our team also works on large-scale clean energy projects (e.g., Port Bonython Hydrogen Hub), boating infrastructure (e.g., Clump Point Boat Ramp), port infrastructure (e.g., Port of Brisbane, Wharf 11 & 12), and the remediation of public assets (e.g., Central Pier).
This role involves leveraging your coastal engineering expertise from concept design through to construction support.
It offers opportunities for leadership in project and design management, as well as business development activities like proposal writing and client engagement.
Key Skills:
• Design, evaluation, and reporting on ports, harbours, coastal works, and marine structures.
• Experience with coastal modelling software such as DELFT-3 D, SWAN, MIKE (desirable).
• Knowledge of Australian design codes and guidelines.
• Leadership in driving innovation, supervising, guiding, and mentoring less experienced team members.
• Project or design management of large maritime projects or teams within multidisciplinary projects.
• Client engagement, opportunity pursuit, and leveraging connections for business growth.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Chartered Professional Engineer status or ability to achieve it within an agreed timeframe.
• Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Eligibility for Australian Government security clearance.
