Senior Financial Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Manager to lead the financial management of a landmark construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial discipline and operational efficiency throughout the project duration.

This permanent role offers long-term opportunities beyond the initial 24-month project timeline with more large-scale projects in the pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive budgeting and forecasting plans for the project duration.
  • Monitor cash flow vs actuals and provide regular reports to senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow reports and monthly Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports.

Cost Management & Control:

  • Maintain robust cost control systems to track project expenditures, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Review and validate contractor and supplier invoices, progress claims, and variations, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct monthly cost reviews and provide actionable insights for financial decision-making.
  • Manage subcontractor agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and minimizing risk.
  • Oversee vendor performance and payment schedules, optimizing relationships and reducing costs.
  • Support procurement activities with financial analysis and contract evaluation, ensuring value for money.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

  • Collaborate with project managers, site teams, consultants, and external contractors to ensure financial transparency and alignment.
  • Liaise with internal finance teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting, meeting regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)/Chartered Accountant (CA) certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in project control or cost management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience managing budgets and financial reporting for large-scale construction projects, demonstrating expertise and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of subcontractor agreements, cost codes, and financial systems, with ability to analyze and interpret data.
