Accounting Assistant Job Opportunity

The company is seeking an experienced accounting professional to assist with payroll, bookkeeping, and administrative duties. The position is part-time, requiring 2-3 days of work per week.

The Position

  • Assist with fortnightly employee payroll
  • Prepare monthly contractors' pay
  • Handle all payroll administration, including onboarding, updating & exit processes
  • Daily reconciliation of bank accounts and accounts receivable receipting
  • Coordinate accounts payables and ensure they have been paid on time
  • Produce invoices using Xero
  • Debtor collections using Xero and Genie
  • Closing of month end reconciliations, which also includes banking of cash and cheques
  • Assist company accountant with the preparation of quarterly BAS and annual tax lodgements
  • Register and update clinical providers with Health funds
  • Update clinical billing items and other administrative tasks on Genie
  • Assist management with ad-hoc duties

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of proven bookkeeping experience
  • Hold a minimum Certificate IV in Bookkeeping
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prioritisation and organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, maintain scheduled tasks, and respond to requests promptly
  • Computing Skills - Microsoft Office (particularly excel), Outlook, accounting package: Xero
