Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. We are actively seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in the position of Construction Equipment Leading Hand for our brand new, state-of-the-art Forrestdale site.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a key member of our team to plan, organise and supervise the Perth Construction Equipment Build operations to meet customer requirements and allotted KPI's. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining work schedules to ensure efficient utilisation of equipment and resources. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day activities of workshop personnel and ensuring labour is used most effectively.

You will liaise with both internal and external stakeholders pertaining to customers, machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty. Additionally, you will ensure HCA employees and contractors comply with all WHS responsibilities and that a safety-first culture is a consistent behaviour within the department.

Key Qualifications and Skills
  • Relevant diesel or mobile plant mechanic trade qualifications
  • Similar supervisory experience with strong leadership skills and the ability to get the team to work cohesively
  • Demonstrated safety focus with a strong understanding of WHS principles
  • Experience in the maintenance of mining & construction equipment (Hitachi exposure would be an advantage)
  • Excellent time management with the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities
  • The ability to use initiative to contribute and support continuous improvement, and drive change
