Program Finance Role

This position offers a stimulating opportunity to provide timely and accurate financial support to the finance lead across various financial activities in the RMS.

AIR6500 is a joint air battle management system with capabilities from Next Generation sensors and command and control systems.

The program creates a fully networked 'system of systems' synchronizing air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, enhancing situational awareness and decision-making speed.

As a finance analyst for the program, you will perform timely and accurate reporting of financial results, track cost allocation accuracy and variance to forecasts, review and analyse program cost allocation actuals, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.

You will also provide clear explanations and analysis of reporting variances, understand and reconcile OSEC Reporting, undertake customer invoicing preparation, debtor management, and cash flow tracking.

In addition, you will assist with contract audits, sampling, and true-up processes, perform and contribute to ad-hoc monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, perform ad-hoc financial analysis, and assist with tracking ROS% and program profitability.

Liaise with stakeholders regarding finance issues and contribute to developing solutions to moderately complex problems.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Finance, Accounting) or equivalent experience preferably within the defence industry.
  • Attention to detail, pattern recognition, trend analysis, and variance identification.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing needs, and work independently as well as in a professional team environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and investigation skills are essential.

Special Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship and AGSVAR security clearance at the required level.
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations apply, considering citizenship and dual citizenship may impact suitability for this role.
