About the Role

Zurich Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled Life Insurance Lawyer to join our team in Australia. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide expert advice on life insurance law, regulatory compliance, and governance to our businesses in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-house legal advice on life insurance products, policy documents, agreements, and incidents.
  • Assist with regulatory dealings and investigations, and review disclose material and evaluate litigation risks and exposures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, regulatory bodies, and external counsel.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in life insurance law and regulatory requirements, and provide guidance to the business on implications and recommendations.
Requirements
  • Recognised Australian legal qualifications and eligibility to practice law in New South Wales.
  • 5+ years of PQE experience in life insurance law, including financial services law and general and commercial law disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to receive instructions, assess issues, and provide clear and concise advice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build trustful relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to produce high-quality documents and communicate effectively with colleagues and external parties.
