Antepartum Care Specialist



Job Description

Night shift nursing care for pregnant women and their newborns is provided by registered nurses with expertise in antepartum patient monitoring. 2 years of experience are required as well as certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring.


Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients' health and vital signs using telemetry or pulse oximetry equipment.
  • Administer magnesium sulfate to pregnant women when ordered and watch for any side effects.
  • Interpret abnormal heart rhythms that can affect a patient's condition.
  • Work with other healthcare professionals to manage complex patient cases including antepartum, postpartum, and IUFD.
  • Comply with influenza vaccination requirements and be flexible in scheduling within the facility.

Qualifications and Skills
  • ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring Certifications.
  • 2 years of experience required.
  • Epic system experience necessary.
  • Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation.
