Geotechnical Testing Professional

A leading geotechnical consultancy seeks a highly skilled Senior Laboratory Technician / Laboratory Supervisor to support our field and laboratory testing operations.

This is an opportunity for an experienced NATA-authorised signatory to take the next step in their career, delivering high-quality construction materials testing, maintaining NATA accreditation, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and perform a range of geotechnical and construction materials tests.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and NATA quality systems.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and proficiency programs.
  • Train junior technicians and foster a culture of accuracy and integrity.
  • Perform equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Liaise with field and project teams to ensure timely sample handling and reporting.
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture in all work practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a NATA-authorised signatory in CMT or geotechnical testing.
  • Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian standards and Queensland TMR test methods.
  • Experience supervising teams or mentoring junior staff in a laboratory setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's Licence, Construction Induction Card (White Card), and PDMG Licence desirable.
