Lead Geotechnical Engineer

A dynamic opportunity exists for a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Australia. As a key member of the leadership group, you will have the freedom to tailor your role to your strengths and passions.

About the Role

This is a high-impact leadership position that offers diverse international project portfolio across West Africa, Asia, South America, and Australia. You will have the opportunity to guide a high-performing 20-person team, plus remote site engineers, and focus on technical leadership, client strategy, and people management.

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  1. Leading or reviewing design for tailings dams, heap leach pads, and geotechnical infrastructure.
  2. Oversight of investigations, testing, design, and risk assessments.
  3. Contributing to construction and closure planning.
  4. Producing and reviewing technical deliverables (reports, specifications, drawings, performance reports).
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Chartered Civil or Geotechnical Engineer (or eligible) qualification.
  • Significant experience in tailings, dams, or mine infrastructure.
  • Strong technical grounding with leadership potential.
