Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud platforms, skilled in Power BI, and exposed to Python, SQL, GIT, and XML. Strong understanding of metadata management, lineage, and data quality is also essential.

  • Champion organisational understanding of data's role and value
  • Define and implement data governance policies, procedures, and quality standards
  • Monitor alignment to governance frameworks and legal compliance (e.g. Privacy Act)
  • Collaborate with Security and Architecture teams to ensure governance is embedded in data solutions
  • Promote best practices in dashboard and visualisation management

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent analytical skills and the ability to deliver commercial outcomes through data strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  1. Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  2. Skilled in Power BI, with strong visual design capabilities
  3. Exposure to Python, SQL, GIT, and XML
  4. Hands-on experience with data governance tools (e.g. MS Purview or equivalent)
  5. Strong understanding of metadata management, lineage, and data quality
  6. Familiarity with frameworks such as COBIT, ISO27001, GDPR, DMBOK, ISO 42001
  7. Demonstrated ability to deliver commercial outcomes through data strategy
  8. Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, IT or related field
