Regional Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and values-driven professional to join our team as a Regional Coordinator. This is a fixed-term, full-time position based in Perth.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will play a key role in building positive relationships between PALM scheme workers and their local communities through social, cultural, and sporting events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage with local Pacific and Timorese community groups to support the welfare of workers.
  • Prepare and communicate quarterly schedules of events and engagement activities to promote social cohesion.
  • Provide scheduled engagement with relevant local Pacific and Timorese community groups, including activities to raise awareness and understanding of the PALM scheme.
  • Promote social cohesion between workers and their local communities, including by raising cross-cultural awareness amongst local Pacific and Timorese community groups.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A bachelor's degree in community development or a related field.
  • Studies or demonstrated relevant experience in project management and/or community and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in dealing with diverse stakeholders in complex situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare, check, and edit documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience working with people of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Pacific Islander, South Sea Islander, or Timorese background preferred.
  • A valid driver's license.
