Job Description

We are seeking an expert in dangerous goods regulations to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with various regulations and will be responsible for conducting audits, providing training, and meeting with internal customers and contractors.

The job involves travel to our facilities to conduct audits, provide training, and meet with internal customers and contractors. The successful candidate will report findings to leadership and make recommendations for improvements while serving as a contact for regulatory agency inquiries and investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop Strategies: Develop and document strategies to ensure compliance with dangerous goods (DG) regulations, including ADG, ICAO/IATA, IMO/IMDG and others.
  2. Product Classification: Perform product DG classification and data maintenance.
  3. Lead Regional Program: Lead the regional program to ensure DG systems and related data are complete and accurate.
  4. Regulatory Interface: Act as the primary interface with regulatory agencies.
  5. Information Exchange: Conduct information exchanges to partner with operations, sales and procurement to improve related processes.
  6. Risk Management: Evaluate new technologies and processes to develop strategies and tactics for minimizing risk.
  7. Training and Communications: Develop and deliver training and communications, identifies target audience and tracks training records to support regulatory and business requirements.
  8. EH&S DG Compliance: Support vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EH&S DG compliance for site processes and program goals.
  9. New Regulation Evaluation: Evaluate impact of new regulations on company operations.
  10. Standardization: Work across departments to standardize work, processes, training, tools and systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years' experience in dangerous goods, regulations and assessments, preferably in aviation.
  • Lead Contact: Experience as a lead contact with regulatory agencies related to incident investigation and regulatory interpretations
  • Certifications: Current DG certifications with a professional accreditation or ability to obtain within one three months
  • Social Skills: Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and effectively work within teams to achieve common goals
  • Team Player: Team player with the ability to build solid working relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Language Skills: Fluent English language skills (both verbally and written); other language skills are a plus
