Job Title: Communications Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing communication advice and support to significant projects staff on risk assessment, issues management, community consultation and communication strategies using appropriate communication tools.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective communication strategies. They will also have strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate and project manage the content of our communication intranet and internet pages.

In addition to their technical skills, the successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels. They will also have a strong understanding of public sector communication principles and practices.

The role involves working closely with senior management to develop and implement communication strategies that align with our organization's goals and objectives. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of media statements, responses to media and web enquiries, speech notes, briefing notes, ministerial, and other communication material for our Minister's office.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field;">
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a communications role, preferably in a government agency;">
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;">
  • Ability to develop and implement effective communication strategies;">
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate and project manage the content of our communication intranet and internet pages;">
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels;">
  • Strong understanding of public sector communication principles and practices.">
