We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in the ANU Biological Data Science Institute.

This is a key role in a friendly, motivated team providing research expertise, student supervision, and training to the newly funded ARC Training Centre in Plant Biosecurity (the Centre). The successful candidate will contribute to reports and research for the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

Job Description

This full-time, continuing position offers a salary package of approximately $94,351 per annum plus 17% superannuation, making it one of the most competitive salaries in the industry.

The successful candidate will undertake independent research on quantitative methods in biosecurity and collaborate with researchers and policy makers in the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in quantitative biosecurity or an adjacent area, including but not limited to ecology, biometry or statistics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Australian citizenship and eligibility and willingness to apply for a baseline security clearance.
