Substance Use Recovery Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Substance Use Recovery Specialist to provide support and guidance to individuals experiencing problematic substance use, promoting long-term recovery.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree qualification in social work, psychology, or a related discipline, as well as a current drivers license. You will be responsible for delivering case management practices, utilizing assessment tools, facilitating interventions, and providing a coordinated care approach to service delivery.

This is a permanent full-time position based at our treatment center. Compensation is competitive and aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embed case management practices, including assessment, monitoring, planning, and review under a trauma-informed practice lens to ensure practices are client-focused and reflective of contemporary theory.
  • Utilize screening and assessment tools to identify co-occurring problems and facilitate referrals to specialized services.
  • Facilitate evidence-based interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention.
  • Provide a holistic coordinated care approach to service delivery through liaison, advocacy, collaboration, and networking with external services.
  • Ensure client goals are developed, recorded, and regularly monitored to provide feedback to the client on achievements.
  • Facilitate bio-psycho-social education groups that align with national models of care and participate in professional development, training, client review, clinical, and line management supervision.
