Support Recovery Specialist

Our organization is seeking a compassionate Support Recovery Specialist to join our team in the Perth Metro area.

  1. We are looking for someone who has lived experience of mental health challenges and can connect with young people through assertive outreach, coordinate support, and empower them to achieve wellbeing goals.
  2. The ideal candidate will have at least two years' experience and a genuine passion for supporting recovery.

This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people aged 16–24 with a mental illness. As a Support Recovery Specialist, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides individualized support and connects young people with community resources.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Peer Work, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or other health-related field
  • Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/or Advanced Training, or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work
  • Lived or living experience of mental distress and recovery
  • Previous experience in using lived experience and expertise in a dedicated Peer role
  • Experience, expertise and/or desire in working directly with people with mental health issues, and their families and carers
