Underground Production Specialist

This role requires a specialist who will provide expert advice and execute analysis and benchmarking of underground production's end-to-end performance.
The ideal candidate will assist the production team in day-to-day operations, play a pivotal role in finding sustainable solutions through problem-solving and identifying improvement opportunities through data analysis or in-field observations.
Responsibilities include:
- Engaging with underground crews and their leaders to ensure new ideas are developed and practically implemented.
- Designing and reviewing drilling, blasting and production plans.
- Compiling reports and providing expertise to other teams in analysis of production performance indicators and metrics.
- Analysing and determining equipment capability assumptions.
- Identifying functional capability gaps and recommending improvement opportunities to department leadership.
- Preparing inputs to form production strategies and produce operating standards, procedures and work instructions.
- Undertaking QA/QC monitoring for production activities.
- Undertaking stope reconciliations/abandonments upon completion.
- You must have a degree qualified in Mining, Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Experience working in an underground, hard rock, metalliferous mine environment is essential.
- You should have underground practical experience complete including a thorough understanding of the underground production cycle.
- A proven track record in drill and blast design in sub-level open stoping is preferred.
- Previous experience in scheduling is also beneficial but not essential.
- You should be motivated and self-directed to achieve project outcomes.
- Able to develop and maintain strong relationships.
- Previous experience in actively promoting safe production and processes.
- Well-developed Microsoft Office and Deswik suite software experience is required.
