About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver to join our team at Uniting. As a Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of care for our elderly clients, empowering them to live independently in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily living tasks: Help with housekeeping, grocery shopping, and meal preparation to ensure our clients' basic needs are met.
  • Transportation and social activities: Escort clients to appointments, shopping trips, and social events to promote their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Personal care and support: Provide assistance with personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, meal assistance, and medication administration to ensure our clients' dignity and comfort.

Requirements

  • Previous experience: Aged or community care experience is preferred, but we also welcome individuals who are eager to begin a career in aged care.
  • Empathy and resourcefulness: Demonstrate a strong ability to empathize with our clients' needs and be resourceful in finding solutions to support them.
  • Flexibility: Be able to accommodate the evolving needs and schedules of our clients.
  • Driving and vehicle requirements: Hold a valid Australian driving license and have access to a comprehensively insured, reliable vehicle.
  • Certification: Possess a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
