Family Support Specialist

Located in Moruya, our Family Support Specialist will be crucial in delivering client-focused and outcome-based services for vulnerable children and families.

Our core mission is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty by providing a targeted early intervention service that reduces risks and creates positive change within home environments.

About The Role
  • As a Family Support Specialist, you'll work collaboratively with clients experiencing complex issues, advocating for their needs and contributing to cultural case plans.
  • You'll commit to trauma-informed care under the Sanctuary model, integrating it into your daily work to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Foster respectful relationships with stakeholders, government departments, and the community for effective collaboration.
  • Develop and implement case plans in collaboration with families and other service providers.
What's Needed?
  • A relevant qualification in the Human Services field (Diploma of Community Services or equivalent).
  • Practical experience in working with vulnerable families and an ability to identify children and young people at risk.
  • Demonstrated expertise in client-centred case management and crisis response.
  • Knowledge of the Community Services sector, trauma and its impacts, child protection issues, and legislation.
